Brilliant Jazz night…

What a great evening of talented playing of live music we had the privilege of listening to last night at The Sports Pavilion Ditchingham.

The band played so in tune with one another and they enjoyed it which is always a pleasure to experience when they have fun so do we as the audience…Lots of really good music so thank you all so much.

Rather a hot evening maybe have to get a fan in as the fire door was not available to be opened which left nearly all the band and us rather hot!

A good crowd even though a lot of regulars were not there, but they missed a great night!

Thanks Chris for doing the raffle and for Jan helping me with the folding of the tickets our 'boys' should be back next week to take over again…

Heidi doing a good job behind the bar, sorry I forgot your birthday Heidi, best wishes to you.

Garden this morning in the sunshine…

Nice bit of sunshine and the flowers are coming into bloom, but so are the bugs!!!! Also the weeds so better get out there and get started.

Morning walk…

Had to go to the opticians this morning and the car park is down by the river, so thought I would take a couple of photos, lovely day, not such good news on eyes but a 6 month appointment instead of a year so a bit deflated…But the sun is shining and the garden awaits…

We are so lucky to have such a lovely walk here in Beccles…

Roy's Birthday…

Yesterday was a lovely day …lots of sunshine with a little breeze …when a party of us from Jazz went along to The Wherry at Geldeston to celebrate Roy's 80th birthday.

Roy has not been well of late so it was fingers crossed that he could come along, and thank goodness he could, it was nice to see him smiling, eating and chatting even if he may suffer later (hope not)

Janet who runs the pub has made a good job of making it friendly and sweet, nice bunting and old jugs hanging a real country feel, with a lovely courtyard, and garden she does good food as well. Her and her staff made us very welcome, she did not realise how many musicians were there, she would have like them to play!!! maybe we could have a jam session there?

So good of her to let me cut the birthday sponge up and whilst in the bar area found a gentleman ? who used to come to our old pub, so lots of memories as well chatting to him, I do hope Janet can make a real go of the place as it is a hard business nowadays, but she seems to be willing to take it all on, and it is not new to her as she has been a landlady before…one of my boys went for a meal the other night with friends and had a great meal, it turns out he mentioned me so had a nice chat about that. Once a barmaid always one I suppose!!!!

Well done JJ and the coven table so pleased to have been invited to help Roy enjoy his day, glad the wonky sponge tasted better than it looked!!!!Thanks for the compliments. Miss being able to do my catering and cakes but never mind. Thanks Jan for taking us sorry you could not have a drink!

Thanks to one and all and wasn't I good to not get the camera out? or was I? we do not like our photos taken but maybe should have taken one as it was such a lovely day. Thanks again.

Wisteria

Just been watering my very dry garden, and watching the blue tits in and out of the box, so thought would put the photo on here… not as good as usual as was not able to cut it back last year, but still that and the bluebells smell delicious! Also nice that you cannot see all the weeding that needs doing!

Fun…at Chris's Birthday Party

Lovely to see and hear this …Sorry again Mike I know you were saying it would not be good, but it does show how much we all enjoyed it.

And live music is the best…Hope to see you back at Ditchingham with the Sole Bay one of these Thursday evenings.

Thanks again Ruth and Chris and everyone for a really great happy evening…

70th Birthday Celebrations…

Well that was a party and a half … Chris and Ruth what a great celebration at the Queens Head Thurlton for Chris to enjoy his 70th birthday.

Thank you so much for letting me be part of it, and thanks to Barry and company for the lift even if we went the long way round, Stella was enjoying it and all the birds and animals we saw, well done for missing them all.

The evening was really lovely  very noisy like a good party should be…and what a line up to entertain all of us…

Chris…Ray…Tim…Craig…Tony…Mike…Barry…

taking it in turns to make the evening great.  Lovely food as well …the cake was good Ruth sorry I could not make one for you as I did for your wedding, but as they say 'you did well' and those candles were a blast! xx all in all a success you two, hope your heads (and some of the guests heads ) are ok today!

I took a nice lot of photos but on looking through thought better than put some of them on ha ha, however did a little video of one of the songs, I know Mike you said 'oh no' but it was live and shows how everyone was enjoying the music and having fun. Will pop it on because I enjoyed it and lovely to see you playing again…

So good to see old friends and some new ones having fun, thought the labels were a good idea Ruth and a giggle…

Sorry if some of the photos are a bit blurred no it was not the champagne ! everyone was moving so much, but hope whoever looks in they will show what a great party it was.

The main man xx

Pity the 70 candles were blurred what a great giggle…
